2. Black beverages

Cocktails go "goth" with ingredients like black sesame and activated charcoal that turn the drink a black hue. The good news: these sexy spirits taste terrific.

Where to sip: In San Diego, Sycamore Den features the effervescent Black Sea Spritz made with Jagermeister, activated charcoal, lemon juice, tarragon syrup and sea salt, then topped with sparkling wine. On Magazine Street in New Orleans, Root Squared serves A Dark Art made with Maker’s 46, housemade black sesame orgeat, activated charcoal, lime, Angostura bitters and a Jasmine flower garnish.
